Veronica Strabel and Karlton Durkee engagement announced

Veronica Strabel and Karlton Durkee, both of Glendale, Ariz. have announced their engagement.

The bride to be is the daughter of Ron and Pat Strabel of Cape Coral, Fla. and the sister of Ryan Strabel of Pollock Pines. She grew up in Placerville and is a 1992 graduate of El Dorado High School. Veronica is employed at the registration desk in the Arizona Grand Resort in Phoenix.

The groom elect is the son of Christine and Butch Levy of Milford, N.H. and Nelson and Joyce Durkee of Glendale, Ariz. He is employed as the executive chef in a retirement community.

The couple plans to be married in a private secluded beach ceremony on the island of Oahu on May 11, 2011. After their honeymoon on Oahu, they will be making their residence in Glendale, Ariz. where they plan to open a catering business.
