Wedding Rachael Van Veldhuizen-Jeremiah Smart

Rachael Van Veldhuizen of Camino and Jeremiah Smart of Rocklin were married on Saturday, June 16.

The bride is the daughter of Kevin and Terri Van Veldhuizen of Camino. The groom is the son of John and Lynn Smart of Pine Grove. The grandparents of the bride are Margaret and Ellsworth Rose. The grandparents of the groom are Chesley and Marlene Waklee.

The wedding was held at the High Sierra Iris and Wedding Gardens in Camino. The Rev. Calvin Vande Zande officiated the ceremony. The bride was given away by Kevin and Terri Van Veldhuizen.

The maid of honor was Tami Van Veldhuizen, sister of the bride, from Camino. The brides maids were Rachel Smart, sister of the groom, of Pine Grove and Alyssa Van Veldhuizen, cousin of the bride, from Los Angeles.

The best man was Rafe Kalkis, best friend of the groom, from Stockton. The groomsmen were Andrew Plitt, friend of the groom, from Pine Grove; Joshua Smart, brother of the groom, from Pine Grove and Chad Maxon, friend of the groom, from Elk Grove.

Jessica Hunt of Pollock Pines was the flower girl.

The wedding reception was also held at the Gardens in Camino. After the reception, the couple went to San Diego for their honeymoon. The couple resides in Camino.

The bride is a 2005 El Dorado High School graduate. She graduated from Cosumnes River College in Elk Grove with an AA degree. The groom graduated in 2005 from home schooling in Amador County, and graduated from Sierra College and William Jessup University, both in Rocklin. The bride works as a shift supervisor in a retail store. The groom also works in retail.
