Wet the Hippo, nominated for Best Comedy in the 2013 Hollywood Fringe Festival, will perform for one night at the Smith Flat House Restaurant, 2021 Smith Flat Road in Placerville on Friday, Aug. 23.

Wet the Hippo is an edgy, improvised show directed by John Gilkey, long time lead clown for Cirque du Soleil.

The show stars nine Los Angeles performers including actors, improvisers, comedians and one concert violinist.

This show is the first in what the Smith Flat House plans to be a continuing series of quality performances presented by the production company Hungry Coyote under the direction of Jamie Van Camp — actor, comedian, director and theater-maker.

Wet the Hippo will perform in the upstairs theater area.

Van Camp suggests dining at the Smith Flat House and then seeing the production.

Theater doors open at 8:30 p.m. with the curtain at 9 p.m. Tickets are $10. Must be 18 or over to see the production.

For more information visit or call 530-621-1003.
