Wood Heads raise money for schools

The Society of Wood Heads Only in conjunction with The Hardwood Lumber Distributors of Greater Sacramento are pleased to announce their ninth annual fundraiser for school woodworking programs of El Dorado County.

Participating schools include Union Mine, El Dorado, Ponderosa, Golden Sierra high schools, El Dorado Trade School and Camerado Springs Middle School.

For the sixth year, Powell’s Steamer Company and Pub, 425 Main St. in Placerville, will host the event which is from 5 to 8 p.m.on Monday, April 22.

It will feature a raffle for a delightfully ornate children’s playhouse built by the students of Golden Sierra High School and a 46 inch Smart TV with Wi-FI and killer sound.

There will be an on-site raffle for items made by the woodworking students from all the schools. Items donated by local merchants, craftsmen, area wineries and supportive community members will also be included.

The public is encouraged to attend and support this event in support of these woodworking programs. All donations are tax deductible.
