Zia’s, 312 Main St.in Placerville, is presenting Frankie Soul on Saturday, Dec. 22 from 7 to 9 p.m.
Frankie “Soul” Rodriguez has been playing music in the Northern California area for 22 years.
He has appeared on stage opening shows for such noted acts as Tower of Power, Elvin Bishop, Robin Trower, Lydia Pense and Cold Blood, Canned Heat, Albert Collins, Bo Diddley, and many others.
In the late ’80s Rodriguez and his partner,Tom Masi, formed “Masi and Soul” one of the premier R&B horn bands in the Northern California area, playing in some of the finest venues in Northern California and Nevada.
As well as performing as headliners, Masi and Soul served as the back-up band for many classic vocal acts, including The Fabulous Drifters, The Shirelles and The Coasters.
