Improper contact

Kathy Otermat, a director on the board of the Georgetown Public Utility District, has been in contact with the primary regulator of the water district, the California Department of Public Health. From the exchange of e-mails that have come to our attention the contacts appear sub rosa, a fact that is borne out by her [...]

GDPUD sets dates for budget meetings

The board of directors of the Georgetown Divide Public Utilities District has set two dates for input from the public on next year’s budget. The meetings will be held at 10 a.m. on May 23 and May 30 at the district office at 6425 Main Street, Georgetown.

Staff, residents, and board members squared off over access to public records and the “stealth” contacts initiated by a board member with the state agency that has oversight authority of the district. Most of the e-mails were [...]

Georgetown Divide PUD pursues $2 million in grants

Hank White, General Manager of GDPUD, reported that the agency has either received or is applying for grants totalling $2 million. It has already been approved to receive three grants from the El Dorado County Water Agency totaling $140,800 for such projects as mapping, designing and planning work related to the retrofit of the Auburn [...]

GDPUD Board of Directors

EDITOR: I am disheartened with the Georgetown Divide Public Utility District behavior at board meetings. In the event you are a public person and speak of any objection to the agenda or non-agenda items the treatment given by the board and the supporters of the general manager is hostile. A gentleman that I do not know [...]

Failed protest moves GDPUD plant retrofit ahead

At a special meeting of the Georgetown Divide Public Utility District on Wednesday, the board accepted the results of the Proposition 218 hearing held on April 11. The hearing failed to generate the requisite number of protest letters which means the district can now move ahead with its planned retrofit of the Auburn Lake Trails [...]
