Placerville – It is a whole lot of fun at the Fourth of July Family Blast at the El Dorado County Fairgrounds, 100 Placerville Drive in Placerville, on July 4. There are games and activities for children, music, food and the big fireworks show. The gates at the fairgrounds open at 4 p.m. and the fireworks are after the sunset. Cameron Park – The Summer Spectacular at Cameron Park Lake, 2989 Cambridge Road in Cameron Park, is a full day of fun to kick-off the Fourth of July celebration. The Spectacular is Saturday, June 30, and features vendors offering food, games, contests and products. There is swimming, music and the fireworks after sunset. El Dorado Hills – El Dorado Hills Town Center is having a Fireworks Jubilee on Tuesday, July 3. Gates open at 4 p.m. There will be a kids’ area, artists, music by several bands, food and more. Many of the shops will be open for food and beverage service. The fireworks start at dark. There is a Fourth of July Parade on July 4. More information:

South Lake Tahoe – The American Pyrotechnics Association rates South Shore’s spectacular Fourth of July fireworks celebration, Lights on the Lake, July 4, one of the top five displays in the nation. The show is scheduled to begin at approximately 9:45 p.m. The fireworks are visible from all over town but two of the best places to view the fireworks are Edgewood and Lakeside Beach.
