By From page D7 | September 7, 2011

As the Butterfly Concert unfolds its wings at the El Dorado County Fairgrounds in Placerville, there will be some pre-concert activities and entertainment.

Gates open at 4 p.m. allowing for preconcert fun with some events especially designed for children to enjoy.

Music on Parade is scheduled  to entertain and there will be area where children can touch and play musical instruments.

Music on Parade will have the family group, the Barrett-Tone Children Singers making a special appearance singing many favorites. This was a popular attraction last year and the family is looking forward to appearing at the Butterfly Concert.

The butterflies along Highway 50 in Placerville are another perconcert endeavor and last year the Diamond Springs Art Association repainted the butterflies for their annual appearance.
