David Girard Vineyards, located north of Placerville near Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park, is a sought-after site in El Dorado County for weddings and events.

The vineyard has matured since it was first planted 20 years ago, and the site overlooking the vines has held many weddings, concerts and other special events in a large white tent.

The tent is gone. In its place, a beautiful 7,000-square-foot event center is under construction. The building was designed by Anova Architects and is being built by Carter-Kelly Construction.

It will be called the Viticulture Galleria and is expected to open in June.
Reflecting the local landscape, the grand interior space has heavy timber trusses.

In addition to the Viticulture Galleria, David Girard Vineyards offers the Hilltop Amphitheater, with Tuscan columns and gardens surrounding the outdoor site with a stunning view. The amphitheater seats 300, and is a perfect place for wedding ceremonies.

The Waterfall Terrace is a short walk from the tasting room along a grapevine-covered path, with another view of the vineyards. The lawn accommodates up to 100 guests for an intimate ceremony or rehearsal dinner. With surrounding gardens, this spot features an outdoor kitchen and granite bar, making it the perfect spot for cocktails and small plates.

The 90-acre estate is the setting for a classic vineyard wedding. The professional staff has had years of experience planning weddings and can ensure an exceptionally smooth and wonderfully unforgettable wedding.

Event Manager Judy Collinsworth said, “We take the guess work out of selecting your caterer, music, flowers and photography by referring only the best in the area. These are all experts who have worked with us and are familiar with our facility.”

The facility fee includes use of the ceremony site and Viticulture Galleria from 2 to 11 p.m. The ceremony and reception time frame is from 5 to 10 p.m. The cost varies according to the time of year and number of guests, with a maximum of 275.

The bridal party will have exclusive use of the property.

David Girard Vineyards’ event team will be on site before, during and after the wedding.

David Girard Vineyards is located at 741 Cold Springs Road overlooking the Coloma Valley. Protected from city lights, the sunset views and starry nights are enchanting.

To make an appointment with the event manager call 530-295-1833 or e-mail weddings@davidgirardvineyards.com.
