The Sunday event, which will close down Main Street from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. features a hundred vendors lining both sides of the street with a wonderful collection of treasures.
“It kind of started with the antique dealers,” said Placerville Downtown Association Marketing Director Lisa Crummett. “Most of them come out and rented space in front of their stores.”
She added vendors will be selling antiques ranging from vintage linens to glassware to old sports memorabilia.
“I think antiquing is a very big part of the city especially with the history of the Gold Country,” said Judy Sbragia, former owner of the Red Geranium. “I think it needs to be marketed well.”
She added many of the items have not been seen before.
There will be collectibles, some furniture, linens, glassware, pottery, kitchen items and more.
The event isn’t solely about antiques, there is also food available for those who attend.
“We get a good crowd,” Crummett said. “Typically we get thousands who come throughout the day. It’s a perfect fall Sunday afternoon.”
Crummett added many who attend the event are visitors to Placerville and others are locals.
“We start planning for this in March and it happens in September,” Crummett said. “I get help from a lot of the dealers on Main Street.”
Admission and parking are free for the event.
