“We have new, used, and consigned merchandise that sets us apart from other stores,” said owner Ginger Tharp. “Our inventory is furniture and accessories, including fine china sets.”
Curiosities, located at 1091 White Rock Road in El Dorado Hills, has an inventory that captivates even the guest who is just looking.
“For the customer that has a specific desire, we have our customer wish list and as merchandise arrives daily, we refer to the list and contact our guests,” Tharp said. “Our inventory comes from estate sales, auction, consignment, and from the select manufacturers that offer the high-end unique pieces at great prices that we can pass to the our customers.”
She added the store also carries turn of the century furnishings and retro pieces.
“Once a customer enters our store, they have all expressed that they are hooked and will come in often,“ Tharp said. “The response so far has been tremendous, as our customers are truly surprised when they enter the store and find the quality of our inventory.”
The store, owned by Tharp and son, Nick Faiella, is a work in progress.
“What we love most about this business is the hunt,” Tharp said. “It is truly a passion and I love putting the vignettes together and having a customer say I will take all of it, the way it is presented. I have buyers in Las Vegas and Hollywood, so it never gets boring.
But it isn’t only the furniture that draws people in, it is also the employees that make the shop special.
“Customers can expect friendly and qualified service from our staff,” she said. “We make package deals so the discounts are here daily.”
During the Christmas season store hours will be Monday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m..
