Folsom Lake College, El Dorado Center, offers many educational opporunities

Folsom Lake College is a comprehensive, public community college, the 109th community college in the State of California and the fourth member of the Los Rios Community College District.

In January 2004, Folsom Lake College received initial accreditation from the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.

January 2010, saw the college’s accreditation reaffirmed by the commission.

Folsom Lake College serves the community with classes offered at the main Folsom campus, two outreach centers (the El Dorado Center in Placerville and the Rancho Cordova Center), and various off-site locations in communities of the region.

A full spectrum of support services and programs are available to enhance student success, including: counseling, financial aid, tutoring, libraries and computer labs.

The Folsom Lake College, El Dorado Center, is at 6699 Campus Drive in Placerville.

Folsom Lake College’s vision is to inspire excellence and provides educational opportunities to enrich and empower students.

The college provides: rigorous academic programs for completion and transfer; training to enhance employment and career skills; preparatory programs for student success; and opportunities for lifelong learning and enrichment.

Opportunities for leadership; professional development; and involvement in the college and community are available.

The beautiful campus offers a collaborative and innovative environment that promotes personal interaction as the foundation of learning; honors diversity; cultivates sustainability; and encourages civic engagement.

The age demographic for the college is: under 18 — 1 percent, 18-20 — 32 percent, 21-24 — 24 percent, 25-29 — 12 percent, 30-39 — 18 percent, and 40 plus — 18 percent.

Students of all ages are welcome to pursue new knowledge and enhance knowledge. There is no age limit on learning.
