Planning the perfect day

Planning a wedding can be a nerve wracking experience but there is help out there in the form of event planners and April’s Events and Weddings of Placerville, may be just what the doctor ordered.

Located at 451 Main St. in Placerville, April Mosher, 33, along with her mother, can help from start to finish or just during the festivities.

“I am an event planner and wedding coordinator,” Mosher, of El Dorado Hills, said. “So we basically do all of the crazy running around that happens at weddings behind the scenes so that the couple, their families and friends can enjoy the day. We do all the running around making sure everything goes off the way that they planned it and the way that they want it. Nobody sees the bumps in the road because we take care of them.”

Mosher said when a couple decides they want to marry she’ll work with them in an effort to find out how they want their special day to look.

“With multiple meetings they give me a vision of their day and what they want it to look like — how they want things to flow,” she said. “I’ve already built up that relationship with them so I know exactly what they want to happen and then I work with the other vendors there at the wedding to make sure that everything goes off without a hitch.”

She added when emergencies do come up, they are taken care of behind the scenes so the party is seamless.

Mosher said couples who seek out her services attend a complimentary consultation.

“I’ll go through all of the different things they need to have for a wedding,” she said. “They need to have their florist, their baker, caterer, location, all those kinds of things. We’ll find the holes where they still need to do some work or find some people. I then make recommendations on vendors that I know and trust to do a good job. We just kind of brainstorm, find out what they want and what their budget is.”

I have different packages,” she said. “Everything from ‘Bride on a Budget’ which is our day of coordination package all the way up to our ‘Blushing Bride’ which is where we take care of everything.”

Mosher added she believes that everybody deserves to have the wedding of their dreams no matter what their budget is so prices are very reasonable.

“It just makes me happy to see my couples happy at the end of the night when they are leaving and they say that it was the best day of their lives,” she said.
