Spring Home Improvement 2012

Simple ways to give your home a makeover

By Julie Samrick

Spring means new beginnings and what better way to breathe fresh life into your home than by giving it a mini makeover that will make a major improvement on its look and feel? Design consultant Wees Maeding of BI Design Studio in El Dorado Hills said a limited budget and lack of time need not prevent you from freshening up your home this spring.

Here are some of BI Design Studio’s suggestions:

Area rugs can freshen the look of any room in your house. Switch out old, tired area rugs with new ones.

A new backsplash is an inexpensive way to update your kitchen, and with so many options it’s easy to create something unique.

Consider replacing broken or outdated window coverings with new blinds or shutters, especially ones that can both direct light into a room and block harsh UV rays.

Established in 2004, BI Design Studio offers designer products and complimentary interior design services. They specialize in flooring, carpet, area rugs, hardwood, laminate, stone and tile, decorative tiles, window treatments and “the most fashion forward trends in the industry.”
