Meet Shawn Allen and Andi Wagner, energetic Realtors with a passion for real estate and El Dorado County. These two Placerville Realty World Platinum stars know how to work in today’s market.

Allan ‘loves real estate’
Shawn Allan said she loves living in El Dorado County and showing properties to those interested in also calling it home. A Realtor for nearly three years, the 47-year-old is a short sale specialist, earning a certification in the challenging real estate niche.

“I absolutely love real estate,” she said. ”I’m a pretty outgoing person and love working with people and showing them our area. You can go five to 10 miles in any direction and be in an entirely different area. El Dorado County is a totally different way of life. The quality is better. I have adult children who have moved here because it’s a different way of life.”

Allan has lived in the county for 13 years after moving from the Bay Area. “It’s the best move we ever did,” she said. “I was looking for some roots and found them here.”

The Realtor lives in Pollock Pines with her husband and has five children, one of whom is adopted. They also have one grandchild with another on the way.

Allan said she previously worked in the foster care arena as a foster parent. Later she volunteered with a local non-profit and then joined them as a case manager. A foster child herself, she said moving into real estate was a positive next step for her.

Allan noted that her strength as a Realtor is that she has been both a buyer and seller. “I really understand what clients’ needs are. Having been there myself helps a lot,” she said, noting that since living in the county she has bought and sold five homes of her own.

Wagner serves the community
Local Realtor Andi Wagner, 38, describes herself as “honest, hard-working, and extremely knowledgeable about the market and the area.”

A Realtor since 2005, she is a Certified Distressed Property Expert and a Short Sale Resource Specialist. Last year she closed on 27 homes.

Wagner, who joined Realty World Platinum  last July, said the real estate market is improving as home prices slowly rise and mortgage rates remain low. This makes real estate an inviting investment. ”There are lots of first time buyers, those buying up and people buying vacation homes,” she noted.

Active in the community, Wagner serves on the board of the El Dorado County Association of Realtors and is vice president of EDCAR’s Top Achievers Club. She’s also a member of the El Dorado County Chamber of Commerce and of a networking group of the top Realtors in the county called Team 2000. Topping it all off, Wagner is a member of sports boosters for the Pollock Pines Elementary School District.

Wagner lives in Pollock Pines and is married with two children.
