“I love my profession,” said Goff, 60. “I enjoy the people and I love living in this county.”
For the last 25 years, Goff has helped buyers and sellers achieve their goals. She joined Lyon Real estate nearly nine years ago and now holds the title of senior executive associate, selling real estate on the west slope of El Dorado County, Folsom and Sacramento.
So what keeps her interested in real estate?
“It’s never the same,” Goff said.
Changing regulations and changing markets keep her on her toes, but Goff said she enjoys educating herself to better serve her clients. The desired outcome for the buyer and seller is “win/win,” she said.
Goff acknowledged that these past few years have been particularly tough on the real estate market but, she noted, “There has also been a lot of good things happening.”
Goff only wants good things for her clients, even if they’re in less-than-ideal situations. She said she sympathizes with sellers who have to put their home on the market and works “to get as many benefits as I can for them.”
Buyers are always happy, she said, explaining, “It’s an exciting time for them. The pricing is great and the interest rated are phenomenal.” And Goff said she gets equally excited when the deal goes down.
“The part I love the most is going to escrow with them,” she said. “Buyers are so excited and they want to know when they get their keys. (For sellers) it’s so rewarding to see their relief.”
Goff said new rules also help her help sellers get into new homes after the sale of their old homes.
Joining Goff in her real estate office are her son and daughter-in-law and, she said, she couldn’t do all the work she does without the help of her amazing staff. “I have a really good team.”
“When she began her career in real estate Goff said, “I wanted to be able to offer a lot of benefits to the sellers and buyers who worked with me. (Myself and the staff) all have those same common goals.”
Goff lives in Shingle Springs with her husband Thayne Goff. Married for 37 years, the couple has three children and 11 grandchildren, who really enjoy spending time on Grandma’s swing sets and trampoline.
Before the grandchildren arrive (and before the sun comes up) Goff enjoys an early morning exercise routine. She gets up at 3 a.m. for some time to herself. “I enjoy that,” Goff insisted. “I know it sounds really painful but … it’s really fun.”
She also volunteers at community events and is very active in her LDS church.
Goff works out of the Lyon Real Estate office at 3360 Coach Lane in Cameron Park. For more information call 530-672-4530 or 916-939-2552 or visit MarilynGoff.com.
