All Star team shows competive balance

All Star Gymnastics and Cheer’s competitive Gymnastics team just wrapped up a fantastic competition as 14 gymnasts, ranging from Levels 2 through 6, traveled to Grass Valley, Elk Grove, Oroville, and Roseville for their competitions.

The team had great success both individually and as a team, bringing home several first, second, and third place team awards.

In their rookie season, the Level 2 gymnasts Abigail Baumunk, Laiken Brown, Taylor Mayerhofer, Sabrina Padilla, and Macey Wagner achieved many high scores and placements.

Some of the highlights were: Baumunk received a 9.225 on the floor; Brown received a 9.0 on the bars; Mayerhofer received an 8.70 on the floor; Padilla earned a 9.30 on the bars; and  Wagner earned a 9.05 on the floor.

All Star’s Level 3 team also had a successful competitive season as several girls qualified to State Championships and each girl achieved personal best scores.

Sophie Molnar had a season-high 34.075 in the all around, a 9.075 on the vault, and an 8.625 on the floor; Summer Coleman had a season-high all around score of 35.225 with high scores of 9.375 on the vault, and 8.925 on the bars; Miyako Takahashi had a season-high all around of 34.90 with a high score of 9.35 on the vault and a 9.10 on the floor. Kayla Stansell had an all around score of 35.475, with a 9.40 on the vault and an 8.95 on the beam. Emily Sargent resgistered an all around score of 34.975 with an 8.975 on the beam and a 9.10 on the floor.

The Level 4 gymnasts rocked as most competitions ended with a team award, first place all around winners and state qualifiers.

Isabella Durda achieved an all around score of 36.875 at State Championships, bringing home a second place medal and a second place on floor with a 9.375; Haylie Coit brought home third place on bars with a 9.525, also a season high, and fifth in the all-around with a 36.275; Jacey Prock competed in four competitions and received great scores, including a fifth place on floor with an 8.475, and a season high all-around score of 32.80.

Lily Doshier represented All Star Gymnastics in the Level 5 Division, competing well all season, to earn a spot in the State competition with an all around score of 34.650 and a personal best on the floor with an 8.925 to receive first place medals for both events.

Dahlia Loomis and Talia DeBey competed in the Level 6 Division, and both performed well at this more difficult Level. Dahlia earned a spot in the State Competition with an all around score of 33.875. She also scored an 8.80 on the vault and and 8.625 on the floor exercise; Talia DeBey earned a season high 9.025 on the vault and 8.10 on the floor exercise.

All Star gymnasts are coached by Breana Pryor, Kim Salee, Colleen Robinson, Jen Vosnak, and Jared Saldate.
