Winged 360 Sprint Cars, Limited Late Models and Pure Stocks are joined by the exciting Midget Lites of the Bay Cities Racing Association.
In the Sprint Car division, Greg DeCaires remains at the top of the standings, currently ahead by 52 points over five-time champion Andy Forsberg.
Sitting in the third position is Justin Sanders who is 78 points out of the lead while Jimmy Trulli of Placerville is fourth, just 20 points back. Jake Morgan rounds out the top five in this division entering Saturday’s race.
The Limited Late Model division continues to be led by former champion Matt Micheli. Four-time winner Ray Trimble trails by just 11 points while defending champion Tom Tilford of Citrus Heights is third, 45 points from the lead. Former track champion Dan Brown Jr. is fourth, 63 points from the top while Jay Norton of Shingle Springs rounds out the top five, 89 points from the leader.
Scott Grunert continues his quest toward his first career championship in the Pure Stock division. A two-time winner this season, Grunert is 19 points ahead of Eddie Gardner, Rick Grunert is third in the ranks, 36 points out, Tim Mack of Diamond Springs is fourth and Chris Van Roekel rounds out the top five.
In the visiting Midget Lites, Brian Corso is the point leader over Marcus Smith. Hunter Kinney is third overall with Craig Holsted in fourth and Logan Seavey rounding out the top five.
The grandstands will open at 5 p.m. Saturday night with qualifying at 6:30 p.m. Adults are $15, seniors $13, juniors are $12, children $5 and those 5 and under are free. Visit the official track Website at placervillespeedway.com.
