SHINGLE SPRINGS — Ponderosa picked up its first Delta River League victory Thursday night at home, dropping Folsom 57-50.

The Lady Bruin offense blitzed its way to a 19-point first quarter and 32-point first half while holding Folsom to 15.

“Our goal the second time through our schedule had been to improve and the past four games we’ve well surpassed that goal,” Bruin head coach Noel O’Donnell said.

Sophomore Danielle Craft slashed and burned her way to a game-high 24 points. Senior Sophia George finished with nine while Taylor Yancey and Alex Boyle put up seven each.

Senior Jessica Templeton, back from injury, served as the spark in pushing her teammates for perfection on both ends of the court.

“Jessica really came out and gave us a huge boost,” O’Donnell said. “The girls really respond to her personality and dedication and her presence on the court really helped us play with more energy and enthusiasm.”
