Brendan Hunter, Joel Pedretti and Colton Merrill had hits with two outs for Union Mine in the bottom of the first inning but the trio was left stranded.
Union Mine’s (4-13, 9-16) only other hit was in the second by John Creason. One of seven seniors who played their final home game, Creason started on the hill for the Diamondbacks, striking out five.
“John has done well for us all season,” Union Mine head coach Brett Robinson said.
Cosumnes Oaks scored two runs in the top of the third inning and one more in the second inning.
Seven D’back seniors who played were R.J. Blake, Colton Merrill, Will Bright, Brendan McKillip, Greg Alloway, Pedretti and Creason.
“It’s tough to see those guys go,” Robinson said.
