Coming in, Union Mine sat in fifth place at 2-8-1 in the Sierra Valley Conference.
Just two scored Thursday. The Raiders’ Jaylen Crim had a hat trick while D’back Jimena Jovel scored twice, once to open the game.
Jovel’s header past River City keeper Erin Delany at the near post came on Yvonne Taylor’s pin-point send to the box.
Breakdowns granted Crim her first two scores. After Crim’s second goal late in the first half, Maddie Sime’s run-on shot nealy tied the game seconds before halftime.
Crim’s third goal glanced back in off the left post. Jovel answered with a run down the right side and blast past Delany at the far post.
The D’backs tried but failed to get the equalizer in the last 17 minutes though a bending corner off the foot of Jordyn Trulli made the Raiders sweat.
Thursday was the final match for seniors Ellie Corbett, Marina Lopez, Jordan Bishop, Jovel, Kathryn Leal, Tori Pearson, Alyssa Mastropieri and Madi Verner.
