Dolphins take third championship

CITRUS HEIGHTS — The Placerville Dry Diggins Dolphins ended their continuous winning streak with a third straight VFCAL championship title on July 20 at Rusch Park. 

For three seasons the Dolphins have remained undefeated in both dual and championship swim meets. With strong swimmers and a loyal coaching staff, the Dolphins continue to the tradition of excellence in sportsmanship as well as talent.

The summer season was exceptional and the results were more than head coach Kristen Stumbaugh could ask for.

“Our swimmers continue to improve and grasp the concept of team,” Stumbaugh said.

Assistant coach Jenna Williams expressed well the reason for their win, “It was great to see so many swimmers post their personal best times. It showed how hard all the team raced and worked for this championship.”

Dolphin swimmers Ellen Tiedemann and Mason Biegle won all of their events helping the team in their overall score tremendously. Dolphin swimmers finished in the top 10.
