El Dorado wrestling celebrated its Senior Night Tuesday, wasting little time in defeating Galt 45-3 in dominating fashion.
“Our team has been showing improvement and tonight that was evident. Now at this point in the season we are looking to be in shape and getting ready for the post season,” Cougar coach Robert Hart said.
The night had a total of five matches as the Cougars received five forfeits. The evening started at the 160 pound weight class where John Kunkle battled through the first two periods before dropping a tough 11-7 match.
Jeremiah Romero (170) followed and used a reverse half in the second period for a pin. Tyler Land (182) secured a 9-2 victory with a reversal and a near fall with a cradle to give El Dorado a 15-3 advantage.
At 195s, Alex Lebaron earned a second period pin. The Cougars after a double forfeit at 220 pounds then were given a forfeit at heavyweight to Zach Brazell before Willy Gadow (106) had a first period pin in the final match of the evening.
The Cougars ended the night by taking forfeits to senior Alex Ollar (113), Marcus Douglas (132) and Nathaniel Erskine (138).
