On April 23, Special Olympics will team up with local law enforcement officials and Applebee’s restaurant in Cameron Park for the annual Tip-a-Cop program. Law enforcement personnel will wait on tables that day, seeking donations to help fund the all-volunteer program that serves more than 150 athletes participating in nine sports year-round. On June 24, El Dorado Special Olympics will host its 11th annual Golf Tournament at Cameron Park Country Club. Golfers play 18 holes with a cart provided in a shotgun start beginning at 8:30 a.m. A tri-tip banquet is included and 1st-3rd prizes. Cost is $150 per golfer. Raffle prizes and an auction will be included.
