Fury keeps rolling with Coast Cup win

By From page A10 | September 13, 2013

The 2013/2014 Prospector Fury U15s, fresh off their Fair Oaks Classic Championship, headed down to Pacifica and won The Coast Cup.

While drawing some tough match times to open the tournament, the Fury responded in winning both as  forwards Lexi Day, Taylor Silva, Avery Baker and Cassidy Pensa kept pressure on the opposition’s goal keeper all weekend.

Midfielders Jacquelyn Silverbush, Emily Dahla, Claire Hoffman, Megan McFarlin, Sarah Pacheco, and Lauren Joy controlled the field of play and made smooth transitions throughout the pitch.

Defenders Natalie Palmberg, Erin Ling, Danni DeStefano, Gianna Anselmo, Kendyl Maher, Alison Stansberry and goal keeper Parker Olsen kept the opposition at bay.

The Fury ended up scoring eight goals and conceded only two throughout the weekend. The team’s next tournament is in Santa Cruz.
