RANCHO MURIETA — Four runs in the top of the sixth inning sealed the deal for the Gold Rush Junior All-Stars, beating Folsom American, 8-2, at Stonehouse Field Tuesday.

Leading 4-0 going into the sixth inning, Gold Rush used three hits and a walk to account for its final run tally.
Gold Rush scored a run in the third inning, two in the fourth and one in the fifth before it scored its final runs in the sixth inning.
Folsom American scored its two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning on a single and error to trim Gold Rush’s lead to 8-2. But with two outs, a grounder ended the game and moved Gold Rush into Saturday’s game against Woodcreek, also at Stonehouse Field. Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
Gold Rush had seven hits in the game. Justin Beckham and Cole Weekly-Wilson clubbed two doubles each for Gold Rush. They also scored a combined four times.
Mitch McCoughn also doubled in the game for Gold Rush. David Beal and Eli Franks singled in the victory. The trio plus Josh Antonucci also crossed home plate.
On the mound, Wesley Rhode went the distance for Gold Rush, giving up three hits and striking out one batter.
