SACRAMENTO — The Golden Sierra wrestling team took six varsity and one JV wrestler to last weekend’s Sierra Delta League Championships at Encina High.
The Grizzly varsity had one grappler win his bracket; two seconds, a fourth and two fifth-place finishers.
Victorious at the top of the podium was Griz 162-pounder Brian Agee who goes to this weekend’s Divisional Tournament in Olivehurst as the Sierra Delta League’s No. 1 seed.
Taking second was 120-pounder Patrick Lewis and Zander Mishler.
In fourth was 140-pounder Jordan Miyara while Joseph Herrera (115) and Rober Borba were both fifth.
Carter Meters won the JV tourney for his weight class.
All six varsity wrestlers will be in action at Lindhurst High this coming Friday and Saturday for a shot to qualify for Masters.
