… for some high school football?
The prep season’s in full swing with preseason games and league play right around the corner.
A fall treasure and a part of small-town Americana fabric, a high school football game is a fun way to spend a Friday evening.
Consider. Right now the weather couldn’t be better.
It’s easy to forget what these young men go through during the hot summer months to get ready for these weekly battles.
The short answer is … a lot.
This week’s matchups should pique the interest of the casual or rapid fan as there’s two intra-county matchups on the schedule.
Up in Garden Valley, Golden Sierra is hosting El Dorado while down in Shingle Springs, Ponderosa entertains Union Mine. The Bruin-D’backs’ JV and varsity games will be dedicated to Ponderosa High’s Fallen Warriors. In El Dorado Hills, Grant, a perenial state powerhouse, faces Oak Ridge.
Ten weekends, 10 regular season games, tons of school spirit.
Get out to a game and root for your local team.
Even if you’ve never been before — you’re guaranteed to be entertained.
