Gold Trail’s new park opens today

By From page A11 | March 23, 2012

Everyone is invited to join in Friday’s Opening Day ceremony and celebration of the New Gold Trail Park at Gold Trail School.

Home of the Gold Rush Little League for the T-ball, A-ball and Double A levels, the baseball diamond is the product of a community that came together to enhance the experience of the grand old game for future players and fans alike.

Friday’s festivities start at noon and are expected to run until 1:30 p.m.

The itinerary opens with the Blazer Band leading the Gold Trail student body onto the field prior to the ceremonial first pitch.

Included in the entertainment is a pair of softball games: at 12:20 the Gold Trail staff takes on the seventh/eighth graders and at 1 p.m. the fourth through sixth graders get their shot to play the teachers.

A ball park barbecue is available for the guests to purchase. Root beer floats will be provided for all and the student lunch is available as usual.
