Hockey trio plays for title

El Dorado County ice hockey players Justin Brim (Camino), Davis Holmes (El Dorado Hills) and Noah Paul (South Lake Tahoe) are headed to Valencia to participate in this year’s California State Ice Hockey Championship.

The trio plays for the Capital Thunder Midget 16AA hockey team in Roseville.

With a season that starts with August try outs, long drives for early morning/late night practices and lots of travel for games, competitive hockey is a big commitment. The trio has played hockey for several years but this year they’ll represent Northern California in this once in a lifetime opportunity.

The Thunder qualified for the state finals by shocking the No. 2 (53rd nationally) and No. 5 ranked teams in California. The team is also hoping to participate in the USA National Ice Hockey Championships April 2-6 in Reston, Virginia.
