RANCHO MURIETA — The El Dorado Hills Majors All-Stars out hit the opposition Tuesday at Stonehouse Field but one of the four Woodreek hits proved to be the difference  — a home run — as the Roseville area team knocked El Dorado Hills out of the winner’s bracket with a 4-1 win.

With the game tied at 1-all in the bottom of the fourth inning, Woodcreek had a batter reached on an error and the next smack one deep into center field for a home run and a 3-1 lead. Woodcreek had one more in the inning to account for all its scoring.

El Dorado Hills scored its only run in the top of the second inning. Peter Hansen singled down the third base line and moved to second on Sheamus Doyle’s single. Then Peyton Thomas clubbed a double near the center field fence to drive in Hansen.

In the top of the first inning, El Dorado Hills threatened with two out as Anthony Pallari reached on an error and Tino Bethancourt and Brayden Tester walked to load the bases before a strikeout put El Dorado Hills back on defense.

Woodcreek scored its first run in the bottom of the third inning on back-to-back singles.

Doyle, who was 2-for-2, helped El Dorado Hills threaten again in the top of the fourth when he singled to center field. Leadoff hitter Will Crookham walked but with two outs, a grounder ended the frame to leave the game tied.

In its last at-bat in the top of the sixth inning, El Dorado Hills put runners on the base paths but came up empty. Austin Filippi walked and moved to second on Crookham’s single to right field. But a fielder’s choice ended the game for El Dorado Hills.
