Monday’s highly anticipated one-match play-off between Oak Ridge and St. Francis at the Broadstone Racquet Club was canceled due to the rain.
Tied in the Delta River League standings and each an owner of a 6-3 win over the other, Monday’s match was to determine seeding for the upcoming section playoffs.
CIF rules stated the match had to be played prior to the league championship tournament at Natomas Racquet Club. Slated to begin yesterday (Tuesday), that meant the play-off had to be scheduled Monday. In the event it couldn’t take place, seeding would rely on a coin toss which Oak Ridge won.
By virtue of winning, the Trojans get a first-round bye and host Tuesday, October 30, against the winner between Downey and Lincoln-of-Stockton.
