FOLSOM — Four of six Oak Ridge High girls tennis players won their singles matches to help the Lady Trojans beat Lincoln of Stockton, 6-3, Tuesday afternoon at Broadstone Racquet Club in the second round of the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I playoffs.

Oak Ridge (17-4), which won the Delta River League crown, earned a first-round bye. Against Lincoln, Troy was led by Tori Trylovich, Rachael Librach, Teja Chalamcherla and Lauren Roppolo who each won  in straight sets.

Trylovich, a senior and one of the team captains, needed just 30 minutes to knock out Hannah Litton, 6-0, 6-2 to record the first victory of the match. Trylovich was strong with her backhand, firing the ball near the sidelines to put maximum pressure on Litton who had a hard time with the return.

“The backhand is the best right now,” said Trylovich, who has accepted a full-ride scholarship to play at Sacramento State next fall.

The Trylovich-Litton matchup was a repeat of their encounter in last years’s section tournament in which Trylovich also came out victorious. Oak Ridge head coach Ralph Clark reminded Trylovich on Litton’s strengths and areas to attack to come out with a victory in their second meeting. Their pep talk, Clark noted, was one of the few times he’s chatted with Trylovich during a match.

“Tori is a very good player,” Clark said. “There’s not too many people who can compete with her. She can think her way through a match without me coming over.”

Librach knocked off Ashley Bones, 6-0, 6-1, Chlamcherla beat Marysa Hargett, 6-2, 6-1 and Roppolo posted a 6-0, 6-3 win over Tiffany Lor.

In doubles play, Oak Ridge had wins from Ashlee Gonzales-Jessica Williams at No. 2 and Sydney Newman-Megan Engles at No. 3.

Oak Ridge will play Armijo of Fairfield next Monday, also at Broadstone. Should the Trojans win that match, they play the Rocklin-Davis winner on Tuesday, Nov. 6. Oak Ridge lost to Davis, 5-4, in last year’s D-I quarterfinals.

“Hopefully we do really well in the playoffs,” Trylovich said. “That’s exciting for us.”
