Cranker Classic
The second annual Hangtown Cranker Classic takes place Saturday, sponsored by Placerville Mobility Support. Registration will start at 8 a.m. at the parking lot of 4369 Golden Center Drive in Placerville, across the street from Walmart. Ride starts approximately 9:30 a.m. from the parking lot through Weber Creek Trestle Trail, Mosquito Creek Trail, Smith Flat, winding back roads and ending by riding on Main Street through historic Hangtown. There are choices of riding 5, 10, 15 and 20 miles. After ride barbecue  takes place at the site of the registration. Swim-a-thon
The AquaSol swim program will be holding a swim-a-thon Friday at the Union Mine High swimming pool from 4:30 to 7 p.m. The swim is part of the program’s 10-year anniversary. Swimmers look to swim as many laps as they can during the 2 1/2 hour marathon. Fun activities before and after the kids swim, a raffle and a barbecue. Golf for a cause
The “Bob West Drive for Marshall” 30th annual golf tournament is scheduled for Friday at the Cold Springs Golf and Country Club. Entry fee is $175. Sponsorships are available. Proceeds will benefit the new Marshall Medical Cancer Center and other community health programs. Online registration is available at marshallfound.org. For more information call 530-642-9984.
