Join coaches Bob Ackley and Mike Orchard, in conjunction with the Placerville Recreation and Parks Department, for tomorrow’s fun-filled boys (grades 7-8) and coed (grades 4-6) ‘Take it to the Hoop’ basketball camps at Markham Gym.
Fundamentals of the game including passing, dribbling and shooting will be taught in addition to individual drill and team competition. The boys camp is Oct. 5 (or Jan. 4) from 1-4 p.m. Cost $30 per camp. The coed camp is Oct 5 (or Jan. 4) from 9 a.m. to noon.

Next week

Ponderosa pinks out October 9 for its home volleyball match against Oak Ridge in the 5th annual Dig pink game. The Lady Bruins host this game to bring awareness to breast cancer prevention/treatment as well as honor living and past survivors and their families.
Both teams will be decked out in pink as they battle for a league win and raise money for the local Pink Ribbon Fund  Judy Pickett will be the guest speaker. A donated breast cancer themed quilt will be raffled off, pink goodies will be sold and donations will be taken throughout the night.
The freshmen and JV start at 4:30 followed by varsity.

8.5 Mile Run; 3.5 Mile Run/Walk; Half Mile Kids’ Fun Runs
All proceeds benefit all Camino students.

Race Day Registration: 7-8:30 a.m.
1/4 Mile Kids’ Fun Run: 8:25 a.m.
1/2 Mile Kids’ Fun Run/8.5 Mile Run: 8:50 a.m.
3.5 Mile Run: 9 a.m.
