EL DORADO — In a District 7 contest, El Dorado Post 119 Junior Legion knocked off Del Oro, 6-2, at Union Mine High Tuesday.

Post 119 (9-5) rallied to take a 3-2 lead in the second inning as Lucas Fuller doubled in Tim Salemi and Brendan Hunter and Fuller scored on a ground out.

“So far our hitting has been real inconsistent,” Post 119 head coach Brett Robinson said. “Our discipline at the plate has not been good, but it was pretty solid today.”

El Dorado finished with five hits, one from Asher Hammargren that cleared the right field fence in the bottom of the third to increase Post 119’s lead to 4-2.

In the fourth, Fuller (2-for-3, 2 RBIs) doubled, Matthew Gould walked and Brendan McKillop hit into a fielder’s choice to score Fuller. McKillop scored when Ronnie Hartje singled to right field.

RJ Blake pitched six innings El Dorado and gave up three hits and fanned five.

“He’s been real consistent for us,” said Robinson of Blake. “Today he was solid.”
