RENO, Nev. — The USA Pride 16U girls fastpitch softball team placed second at the Triple Crown World Series National Championship in Reno.
With close to 85 teams, the TCWS was very intense with the Pride playing 11 games over five days. USA Pride had an overall record of 7-2 to reach the championship game.
Each win was hard-fought. The Pride defeated EC Heat (Montana), San Diego Force, TC Detonation (Utah), SoCal Storm, Tri County Smash, Sparks Storm (Nev.) and SoCal Rage.
The nail-biting championship game was a heart stopping 2-1 loss to TNL from San Diego in a double extra-inning international tie-breaker.
“Overall our athletes played some extremely technical fastpitch softball and performed more than just a team … more like a family,” Pride head coach Lawrence Divinagracia said.
