El Dorado 9, Union Mine 8 — The Cougars edged the D’backs Wednesday to sweep the season series from Union Mine. Tied at 3-3 after four innings, the D’backs scored four runs in the fifth to go in front but El Dorado came back with three in both the fifth and sixth innings to take the lead. The D’backs managed two run in the seventh before the Cougars recorded the third out to nail down the win. For El Dorado, Matt Smith (double) and Zack Culp each went 3-for-4; Ryan Rodriguez doubled twice; and Nick Bonniksen went 2-for-2 with a double. Offensively for Union Mine, Mike Davis tripled and doubled. On the mound, Zachary Perry started for the Cougars and was followed by Owen MacKendrick and Bonniksen while the D’backs pitched Charles Simpson, Greg Alloway, Tim Salemi and RJ Blake. El Dorado improved to 14-8, 10-4 in the Sierra Valley Conference. Union Mine fell to 2-20, 1-13 league.
Oak Ridge 12, Sheldon 5 — The Trojans led 12-0 before the Huskies reached the scoreboard in Wednesday’s Delta River League win. Logan Marston went 3-for-4 with a double and 3 RBIs; Ross Dwelley was 2-for-2 with a triple and 2 RBIs; Mikey Meinhofer and Tanner Ales both tripled; and Ryan Sullivan hit a double. On the mound, Tommy Hummer pitched five innings and Conner Davis the last two.
Golden Sierra 18, Encina 0 — The Grizzlies scored six runs in the first inning and nine in the second of Wednesday’s Sierra Delta River blowout. Hollie Johnson pitched a two-hitter, struck out six and went 4-for-4 with a double and 4 RBIs. Haley Leard was 3-for-4 with 2 RBIs; Savannah Stephens doubled twice and drove in 3; Kenna Barth and Samantha Bastien each doubled twice; and Rachel Richard had a double and 2 RBIs.
