Baseball

Ponderosa 12, Sheldon 7 — Tyler Evanoff maintained his season-long hit streak with two hits Tuesday; Hunter Gallant singled and doubled for three RBIs; and Zach Jones and Dylan Duhamel both singled twice on the Huskies’ field. Troy Booher picked up the Delta River League win with six innings on the mound and Dom Campodonico faced four batters in the seventh to nail down the win.

Union Mine 4, Vista del Lago 6 — The Diamondbacks lost a 4-1 lead Wednesday when the visiting Eagles scored five times in the top of the seventh inning to win the Sierra Valley Conference game. Jon Wong homered for the second straight day and Chris Beck had two hits and a double. Taylor Ward pitched into the seventh before Kyle Blakney took over.

El Dorado 6, Galt 9 — The Cougars pulled even with three third-inning runs but the Warriors tallied four in the fourth to go ahead for good in the Sierra Valley Conference game. Zack Brown, Chris Swineford and Nik Rowen had two hits apiece.

Softball

Oak Ridge 2, Sheldon 8 — The Lady Trojans fell back 4-0 after a half inning Wednesday and never recovered. Oak Ridge fell to 2-4 in the Delta River League. Jade Matsumoto had two hits.

Ponderosa 0, Pleasant Grove 2 — The Bruins managed just two hits in Wednesday’s DRL road loss. Ponderosa’s Katie Pieplow gave up just six hits.

Soccer

Ponderosa 3, Folsom 0 — The Bruins won their second straight Delta River League match on the road. Aubrey Wimmer (assist), Alex Donaldson and Sheridan Fox scored goals for Ponderosa; Natalie Hanson had an assist; and Jenna Hufford had two saves in the shutout.
