Boys basketball

El Dorado Adventist 49, Sacramento Waldorf 58 — The host Eagles (0-4) watched the Waves jump out to a 16-9 lead in the first quarter Monday. Sacramento led 32-17 at halftime. Jake Newton led El Dorado in scoring with 19 points and Christopher Engelage had 14. Josh Granucci and Reyes Perez scored six points each, and Aaron Golmitz and Justin Brim, two.
Golden Sierra 51, Foresthill 55 — Peter Biersteker scored 17 points for the Grizzlies (3-1) in the first game of the Foresthill Tournament. Micah Wever followed with 11, and Nick White and Sam Holter had eight each. Holter had six of the Grizzlies’ 29 rebounds.
Golden Sierra 52, Wester Sierra Collegiate Academy 36 — Biersteker had a double-double with 20 points and 15 rebounds. White nine points and 10 boards, and Wever scored eight.
Golden Sierra 51, Sierra Lutheran 48 — In Saturday’s consolation title game, three Golden Sierra players scored in double figures; Wever 14 points, White 13 and Kyle Shiba 10. White (12 rebounds) had a double-double. Wever had eight boards and Holter, seven.
