El Dorado 61, Vista del Lago 49 — The Cougars tightened their grip on fourth place in the Sierra Valley Conference standing after Friday’s road win. El Dorado enjoyed a solid start with a 16-5 first-quarter lead and finished the fourth strong to secure the victory. Ian Spencer and Matt Smith each scored 13 points to lead the Cougars while Tommy Williams added 10. Michael Weston added nine on 4-of-4 shooting; Aaron Line had eight points and Soren Shepherd scored seven. As a team, El Dorado shot 57 percent from the floor and 40 percent from three-point range. Smith made three, three-pointers and pulled in nine rebounds while Weston grabbed eight boards.
Golden Sierra 21, Bradshaw Christian 63 — The Grizzlies stumbled out of the gate, trailing 27-0 after the first quarter and 40-6 at the half of Friday’s Sierra Delta League setback that saw Golden Sierra fall to 4-3 in league. Jason Yurgelevic led the Griz with six points; Nick White scored five and pulled down 10 rebounds and Micah Wever had four points and four blocks. The Grizzlies comitted 32 turnovers and shot just 18 percent from the field.
