Girls basketball

Union Mine 33, River City 60 — The Lady Diamondbacks trailed big the whole way in Tuesday’s Sierra Valley Conference game in West Sacramento. Kimee Mueller did tie for game-high scoring honors with 15 points while Stephanie Preacher and Kinsey Del Rio added 6 each.

El Dorado 23, Liberty Ranch 55 — Shelby Ganzert and Gina Samora scored 6 points each for the Lady Cougars.

Boys basketball

Ponderosa 35, Sheldon 74 — The Bruins couldn’t overcome the host Huskies’ strong start in Wednesday’s Delta River League game, trailing 39-15 after two quarters. Trevor Hammitt led Ponderosa with 11 points; Shelby Lee scored 9 and Curtis Opsahl added 7.
