Ponderosa 51, Oroville 44 — The Lady Bruins led by 13 at the half. Madison Clayton dropped in 18 points, pulled in 15 rebounds and had four assists; Alex Boyle scored 14 points (five assists); Danielle Craft had a dozen points; and Danielle Becker added six points.
Ponderosa 69, Woodland 22 — The Bruins led by 30 after two quarters. Clayton had 21 points, 17 rebounds, four assists and four steals; Craft added 22 points and six steals; Boyle chipped in with 10 points and five steals; Sophia George had six points and Mackenzie O’Donnell added four points.
Ponderosa 52, Bear Creek 60 — The Bruins were outscored 20-11 in the fourth to open the tournament. Craft, hitting on 15-of-16 free throws, scored 29 points and had four steals while Clayton added 10 points; Chandler James and Becker scored four each; and Boyle had eight rebounds. Ponderosa had 24 turnovers.
Union Mine 31, Cosumnes Oaks 57 — The Lady Diamondbacks fell on the road Friday in their Sierra Valley Conference opener.

Boys basketball

Union Mine 45, Cosumnes Oaks 71 — The host Diamondbacks lost their Sierra Valley Conference opener last Friday.
