Oak Ridge 66, Pleasant Grove 54 — The Lady Trojans outscored the host Eagles in every quarter to win Tuesday’s Delta River League opener. Ali Bettencourt scored a team-high 21 points for Oak Ridge while Haley Anderson added 13; Shelby Peters, 8; Jenn Hoffman, 7; and Nikki Dow, 6.
Boys basketball
El Dorado 79, Galt 33 — The Cougars bounced back from Monday’s loss to Cosumnes Oaks, outscoring the host Warriors 47-18 in the first half of Wednesday’s Sierra Valley Conference win. Matt Smith led El dorado with 16 points on 7-of-9 shooting; Aaron Line (nine rebounds) made 6-of-9 for 14 points; Ian Spencer made all five shots to score 13 points; and Justin Morrison added 11.
Ponderosa 47, Jesuit 56 — Despite Trevor Hammitt’s game-high 20 points, the Bruins dropped Wednesday’s Delta River League opener. Chris Snyder added a dozen for Ponderosa.
Oak Ridge 29, Pleasant Grove 37 — The Trojans managed just 10 second-half points in Wednesday’s Delta River league road loss. Connor Sende scored 12 points for Oak Ridge while Bryan Bare added nine.
