Golden Sierra 8, Placer 5 — The visiting Grizzlies scored three runs in the top of the eighth inning to win Saturday’s nonleague contest in Auburn. Golden Sierra (4-5) scored the tying run in the seventh. Jeffrey Klahn (2-for-5, RBI) and Nick White (2-for-5, double, 2 RBIs) led the Grizzlies’ attack while Cameron Stephens, Carter Lencioni and Joshua Salmonson had a hit each for Golden Sierra. Beau Burgess had two RBIs, followed by Grizzly teammates Alex Vargas, Stephens, Klahn and Lencioni with an RBI each.
Ponderosa 9, Laguna Creek 5— Behind 4-2 entering the top of the fifth inning of Friday’s nonleague game in Elk Grove, Ponderosa (2-3) scored three runs and added three more in the sixth and one in the seventh. Davis Carlson and Brett Pankow combined to pitch a five-hitter for the Bruins. At the plate, Jacob Hilliker went 3-for-5 with two doubles and two RBIs, Ryan Carey (3-for-5), Pankow (double) and Parker Wright (2-for-3, RBI) led Ponderosa, which had 12 hits.
El Dorado 2, River City 1 
— The host Cougars (5-1, 8-1) swept the Raiders in their three Sierra Valley Conference meetings with Friday’s win behind the complete-game pitching of Zach Terry. El Dorado, which had two hits, scored a run in the bottom of the first and added another in the fifth to go ahead.   
Golden Sierra 1, Bradshaw Christian 11 
— Klahn, White and Salmonson had a hit each for the Grizzlies in Thursday’s Sierra Delta League contest in Sacramento. Stephens scored Golden Sierra’s lone run in the top of the third inning.


Oak Ridge 13, Center 3 — Oak Ridge (8-2-1) banged out 12 hits, four off the bat of Cameron Kirtlan, who scored three times. Amber Orchard (2-for-3, two doubles, 5 RBIs), Caitlyn Olan (3-for-3, double, RBI) and Lindsay Zito led the Lady Trojans. Amanda Miller also scored three times in the game. Taylor Railey and Sky Divinagracia had a hit each for Oak Ridge. Winning pitcher Alyssa Burns struck out 11.
Golden Sierra 22, Highlands 1 — Marina Alexander pitched a no-hitter, fanning 12 batters, Friday’s Sierra Delta League game in North Highlands. Golden Sierra (3-1) players with multiple hits were Savannah Stephens (3-for-4, 9 RBIs, 2 home runs, two stolen bases, scored four times), Sam Bastien  (3-for-4, home run, 4 RBIs), Carley Kauffman (2-for-4, 3 RBIs), Kristine Mendoza (1-for-2, RBI, two stolen bases, scored four times).
“Friday’s game against Highlands was a great game,” Golden Sierra coach Sonny Stephens said.
