Roundup: Martinenko sinks game-winning 3-pointer

Ponderosa 61, Granite Bay 58 — Morgan Martinenko hit the game-winning shot at the buzzer for the Lady Bruins in Tuesday’s non-league game at the Grizzlies’ den. Martinenko buried her clutch shot from the corner as the Bruins outscored the host Grizzlies 23-9 in the fourth quarter to pick up their first official win of the season. Ponderosa (1-0) trailed by 11 points after three quarters.
Ashley Beck had 6 rebounds and three steals in the fourth quarter for the Lady Bruins (1-0). Ashley Beck had 21 points and Martinenko added 19.
Note: Last January, Brooke Sinner made a buzzer-beater in a win at Folsom.

Golden Sierra 8, Placer 62 — In Tuesday’s game in Auburn, Stephanie Schrader scored six points in the Lady Grizzlies’ (0-1) loss.
