Section playoffs

Oak Ridge 6, Rocklin 7 — The Trojans rallied for fives runs to tie the score at Union Stadium on the campus of Sacramento City College Wednesday but a run in the bottom of the seventh by the Thunder dealt Oak Ridge its first Division I playoff loss. Troy received solid relief pitching from Brogan Cooper and Ryan Sullivan after Rocklin scored six times in the first two innings. Erik McNeill went 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs and Tyson Solis was 2-for-4. Oak Ridge returns next week hoping to battle back through the loser’s bracket.
Golden Sierra 4, Woodland Christian 5 — Another one-run loss for an area playoff team as the Grizzlies were eliminated at Stagg High in D-VI action. Golden Sierra tied the scored at 3-3 in the fourth inning.

Section playoffs

Ponderosa 8, Buhach Colony 3 — The Lady Bruins erased a 3-1 deficit with five fifth-inning runs to win Tuesday’s Division I postseason road game. Ponderosa pitcher Terra Jerpbak allowed just two hits but the Bruin defense committed four errors. Jerpbak went 3-for-5 while catcher Veronica Greene homered and doubled to drive in two runs. Madison Anderson went 2-for-4 with a double; Deva Bharne added two hits; and Taylor Doane doubled.
