The victory set up a rematch with Nogales (Arizona District 8), the host team who earlier dealt El Dorado Hills a 7-6 setback. The winner advances to the World Series in Livermore.
El Dorado Hills opened with a 17-7 victory over Hawaii and have defeated Nevada 13-0, Montana 12-2 and Washington 14-8.
Against Nogales, the Rush received a home run from Jackson Slaughter and RBI hits from Brayden Tester and Trenton Smith for an early 3-0 advantage before Nogales overtook them on Aaron Solis’ RBI triple and Luis Andrade’s RBI single.
Arizona added on on an RBI grounder and Paul Carreno’s 2-run single before El Dorado Hills closed the gap on RBI hits from Zachary Reyes and Slaughter.
