Justin Sanders looks to continue his win streak at Placerville Speedway in the winged sprint car division, one of four on the race card tomorrow night at the El Dorado County Fairgrounds.

Joining the winged 360 sprint car division on the quarter-mile clay will be the Limited Late Models, Pure Stocks and the visiting Midget Lites of the Bay Cities Racing Association.

In the Sprint Car division, Sanders enters Saturday’s race with a 17-point advantage over former champion Greg DeCaires. Matt Peterson is third in the ranks, 40 points behind. Defending track champion Andy Forsberg slipped from second to fourth last week where he is tied in the point standings with Placerville’s Jimmy Trulli. Jake Morgan is just 10 points behind the tied duo.

In the Limited Late Model class, 2012 champion Matt Micheli has moved into the lead by five points  over defending champion Tom Tilford, last Saturday’s feature event winner. Ray Trimble  is third, 12-points back, followed by Jay Norton of Shingle Springs and Mike Micheli.

Pure Stock racing has Scott Grunert at the top of the ranks with an 8-point lead over Tim Mack of El Dorado. Chris Van Roekel is third followed by Eddie Gardner and Rick Grunert who rounds out the top five, 30-points behind the leader.

The three track regulars are joined by the Midget Lites of the Bay Cities Racing Association. In this division, Scott Kinney leads the standings over Brian Corso. Marcus Smith is third followed by Terry Bergstrom and Cory Green who rounds out the top five.

Placerville Speedway’s 2014 championship season is sponsored by the new Jackson Rancheria Casino Resort. Complete point standings can be found at placervillespeedway.com.

The grandstands will open at 5 p.m. tomorrow with qualifying at 6:30 p.m. Adults are $15, seniors $13, juniors are $12, children $5 and those 5 and under are free. Placerville Speedway is located on the El Dorado County Fairgrounds at 100 Placerville Drive.
