Ducks Unlimited

Placerville Ducks Unlimited will celebrate its 35th anniversary Friday, May 10 when it holds its annual dinner/raffle/silent auction at the El Dorado County Fairgrounds from 6 p.m. to 10:30. Tickets, $65 individual/$600 for a table package of eight, are limited. RSVP to ensure a spot. There will be an auction and games and drawings for lots of chances to win prizes. The raffle’s grand prize is a 2013 Polaris Ranger. All tickets include DU membership, hats, hosted bar and dinner. The table package includes the aforementioned along with two, $100 raffle packages. Basketball camp

Join Union Mine varsity boys coach Mike Verbitsky and staff at the Fast Break Basketball Camp June 3-6 at Union Mine High School. Camp is for boys and girls in grades 2-8. Grades 2-4 is from 9 a.m. to noon and cost $50 while grades 5-8 runs from 9 a.m. till 3 p.m. and the cost is $100. T-shirt included. For information call 530-363-8944.

Tennis clinic

The Hangtown’s Women’s Tennis Club is sponsoring the 27th annual Hangtown Junior Tennis Clinic June 3-7 at Union Mine High. Under the direction of Clinic Director Martha Downing, a certified tennis professional and former Director of Tennis at Millennium SportsClub El Dorado in Shingle Springs, the clinic is for boys and girls age 12-to-18. Racquets and balls will be provided but participants are asked to bring your own water. The Fee is $25/$15 for second child, includes t-shirt. Times are 8:30 a.m. to 10 for beginners to low intermediates; 10-11:30 for intermediate to advanced. Register by May 27.     Regarding the Fast Break Camp, Bummer. There are several students that would love to attend but their school's in session until June 12th.
